f2k Run Club

Great session at the bowl last night, I think a few of you went off a little too fast on the first effort!
You could see this through the second effort! But once settled down the rest of the session went well.
Now its getting lighter we will be looking at a few new routes over the next couple of weeks!
Hope to see you all again next Tuesday night at 7pm outside f2k Health & Fitness

Thanks

Wilmslow Half Marathon 2010

Well done to all f2k members who completed the above race at the weekend, while still having a good work life balance. I've got a few pictures of you all and will be discussing running technique with the lucky individuals ;-). Remember it's not how much training you do, it's how you do it.

Great turn out last night, four new faces joined us and what a session to turn up for!
Long hill reps were a killer and you could see that the usual attenders! It was not easy, its was great that you all finished the session. I hope your all are not aching too much today?
Lets hope we have another great turn out next week and that we have not scared off the new recruits!

Servus, Gruesst Euch, Hello,

I just joined the f2k team and would like to introduce myself.

I moved to the UK  from Munich last year ( not for the good weather :-) ) and really enjoy living here.
My path into Personal Training and sports coaching was a winding one - moving through architecture studies in Milan, set building in Chicago and a landscaping business in Munich.

I have always been involved in sports - competing and training in swimming and athletics during my teenage years, intensive years as a full time Yoshinkan Aikido ( Jap. martial art) trainer and coach for Wing Chun and Tai Chi Cuan..

But surprisingly I have not always been fit. I know how much effort it requires - in the beginning -  to integrate training in a busy daily schedule. Training has to be sustainable; almost like brushing your teeth. Nobody would do it if it would take hours to achieve results.
I hope to help you reach your goals. For more information about training Chinese martial arts in a different way or physical training in general just get in contact.

Hope to speak to you soon.

Now this is what I look like these days!!!! ha ha

Well the race did not go as planned, I picked up a calf problem 2 weeks ago and thought I had put the problem behind me, but was I wrong. I got to 1.5 km ok, then my calf went, I kept going thinking that I might run it off, but the further I went, there was no turning back. As it was a one loop course. I limped around the other 8.5 km and finished with a time just outside 36 mins.
I learnt a lot from the race more so that I am running well and that my fitness levels are good. I know what needs to be worked on, so its back to training and lets see what happens next race!

Do Triathlon Programs Work..

"I came to Chris in a panic: I'd signed up for the Bolton Ironman but training hadn't been going too well. Life had got in the way; my running was average, my swimming mediocre and my biking appalling. Chris designed a three month program to get me round the course. The programme was just what I needed - it removed all those doubts about what training to do when, and allowed me to concentrate on just getting out there and doing it. Two-and-a-half months later and I feel ready for the big day."

Cheers

Alex.

What's your pleasure?
